Convocation...

Saturday, November 07, 2009

7th November 2009. Finally the day arrives.

I had spent the past 3 years of my life waiting fot this day!

I have finally graduated with a Second Class Honours First Division for my course. Really Thank God since I did some calculation on my part and realise that my results are on the thin line between the First and Second division.

Piggy and I in our graduation gowns!

Mum and Dad was there too!

Overall, its a tiring day. But yea, I am happy.

Molest...

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

My boyfriend's new maid just got molested and perhaps raped by her agent. She is only here for a few days and that rogue agent did that to her.

Seriously, I am peeved.

The agent's license should be revoked for the rest if his remaining life.

The company should be closed down.

He should go to jail and be locked in there for the rest of his remaining life.

To me, molesters are villains of the lowest ethical grades. And all should be stoned to death like the ancient times.

I despise these scoundrels for taking advantage of the weaker sex especially those who are new in a foreign country.

This reminds me of the movie "Taken" that I had recently watched. It documented a father's journey to rescue his daughter from traffickers who kidnaps women who are holidaying and sold them off as prostitutes.

Women are gifts from God to men, not items for personal gratification.

All men who take advantage of women are not true men.

All women should not let themselves have a chance to be taken advantage of.

Neglect...

Saturday, September 26, 2009

As show the title of this post has put it, I have been neglecting this blog for a good 3 months! The last update was in June about my birthday.

I know how this blog must have felt if it is something living; something that will have thoughts and feelings. I have been neglected in some parts of my life as well and the taste is not sweet; its somewhat bitter and somewhat sour. So how would you have felt, my readers?

My best friend since Primary 1 felt that I was not popular enough, so she decided to take off with another 2 girls in our class when we were in Primary 4. I was all alone then since it was always just the two of us. But her elopement was short-lived as her results was not good enough to stay in that particular class. Thank God I managed to make some good friends during the last 2 years of primary school. If not, I would probably lose trust in friendship.

I just went for dinner with my mum and aunty. As I reflected on the busride home, I realised how much I took them for granted - that they will always be there for me just like when I was younger but I seemed to have neglected them in most part of my adult life. My work, my personal and social life has made me too tired; or rather I was just lazy to show a bit of concern. I feel guilty for I had always reminded myself not to be like that primary school friend I used to have.

I shall try my best not to neglect my family and closed ones.

Unwise Smart People

Friday, June 12, 2009

The title basically refers to people who are smart yet unwise in their thoughts, actions and deeds. However, I would like to stress that not all wise people are smart people.

I had this personal experience recently. I had this aquaintance who has decided that he is bored and has nothing to do. So he decided that he should engage in some activity that is harmful to himself. At the same time, he feels that he should not be the only one to be in such sorry state, so he roped in another person. That's selfish and immature, hence the phrase "a person can be smart and yet unwise" - meaning to say that he will engage in irresponsible actions to cause harm not only to himself but to his environments (people, environment etc) as well.

Now, a wise person will not do that because a wise man knows that the most basic rule of life is to love yourself. When you learn to love yourself, then you will know how to love your environments. You do not need a lot of intelligence to know how to love yourself, hence the phrase "not all wise people are smart people".

Gist of it is that, if you are smart enough, love yourself! And if you want to harm yourself, don't drag anyone down with you!

Cuisine : Ma Masion @ Central

Wednesday, May 27, 2009

Dinner @ Ma Masion with Calvin.

We are suppose to meet at 8pm and he didn't arrive until 9pm. I am lucky that I ate something light during the early evening, if not I would have probably starved to death!

Escargots for starters! I have developed quite a liking for eating snails - this dish is a must if it is on the menu.

Donburi Hamburger Steak as main course for myself. Though I am not a huge fan of hamburger steak, this dish is fantastic!

Beef Stranagoff with Omu Rice as main course for Calvin. I actually wanted this because I've tried it the last time round and love it! And it is still tasty!

After dinner, I really wanted to eat the lava cake at the TCC joint just across the river but we just missed the last order cut-off time! Sigh~

However, we managed to satiate our appetite for desserts at the Haggen Dazs.

For me!

For Calvin!

Great night catching up!

꽃보다 남자 (Boys Over Flower)

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Thanks to my mum, I am currently watching this korean drama by KBS - Boys Over Flowers.

Not only is she playing the soundtrack everyday, she is also watching it on cable tv. Moreover, she even tells me the bios of the actors. So, I decided to start on the 1st episode. And now, I can't stop watching.

Chasing after dramas is an addiction. That's why I have decided never to start off any serials because once you have started, you'll never stop till the entire series is done.

I have already watched the mandarin version a few years back and I still remember the storm F4 caused during my JC days. Come to think of it, I even attended their meet-the-fans session as well at Bishan Junction 8 and bought the entire series of the Japanese comic (Hana Yori Dango) on which the plot is based on.

I haven't watched the Japanese version but I definitely won't be watching.

Of Jobs Offers and Rejections...

Friday, May 08, 2009

After being on the job search for nearly 2 months, I had been offered 2 jobs - not a bad feat during this outlook since I have friends who have been on a job search for more than 6 months and have landed no job offers. I am quite bless actually haveing both offers that pays close to my expectations.

However, I rejected them both!

Crazy? I get that quite a lot.

Some have commented that it's better I not take up those jobs because there are better out there - I'll just have to search a little longer.

Nonetheless, I thank you all for your valuable advices.

But what job I am to take up is my personal choice because only I know what I want. I want a job that I like and which I can work long term on. Not some job that I am being "pushed into" by the current poor employment outlook. Unrealistic? Maybe to some but not to me. I rather buy myself sometime.
